Bamboo set – chasen and chashaku

If you’ve already got some matcha in the kitchen and there’s any sort of wide bowl in the cupboard, those are exactly the two things you’re missing. You don’t need an expensive ceramic set to get started — you need something to whisk the powder with, and something to measure it out with.

Included in the set

• Chasen — a whisk made from a single piece of bamboo, hand-split into several dozen fibres. It creates a foam that neither a fork nor a milk frother can match.
• Chashaku — a measuring spoon that holds approx. 1 g per scoop, so that every cup tastes exactly the same.

Both are made of natural bamboo, with no plastic and no varnish. Rinse them with clean water and dry the chasen with the fibres facing upwards — with this care, they’ll last for years.
